Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet-rich plasma is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can be used on injuries or damaged tendons, ligaments, muscles, joints, and skin.

When treating the skin, PRP can be used to treat several areas like periorbital puffiness, dark circles around the eyes, cheeks, neck lines, acne scars, jaw-line, back of hands, hair growth stimulation, etc.

To collect plasma, we will draw blood from your body and use a machine to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. Then the doctor numbs the area of your body being treated with PRP injections. Once you’re numb, the doctor uses a needle to inject your plasma into the area of your body being treated. Once platelets are in the area that’s being treated, they break down and release growth factors, which are compounds that help cells repair and renew. This is thought to trigger your body’s healing process.

If we are treating your skin, you will get injections in the affected area and then you will receive a microneedling treatment to close the procedure.
